***DUE TO AN ADDITION TO OUR TEACHER'S FAMILY, CLASSES WILL BE POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - CONGRATULATIONS ALLISON!!!! ***
As you know, it is difficult to dedicate your time to really exploring your child’s potential. Our children, even though they can’t talk to us because their language skills are not developed enough, still are thirsty for, and so amenable to, acquiring knowledge. In fact, at 6mo to 5 years old, children are at their peak to absorb and retain information! This is also a critical point in their lives to create focus on and interaction with tools, manipulatives, songs, games, etc. to enhance learning that will last a lifetime!
Math is used in SO MANY THINGS we do on a daily basis – time, counting, music, sorting, shapes, addition, subtraction, rhyming, etc. just to name a few that are in a toddler’s world. By exposing toddlers to languages and math, they become very well rounded, much more flexible, and begin critical thinking & problem solving skills at a more rapid rate. How?.......
By learning there is more than one way to look at the world
By singing and dancing to engage learning in a fun environment
By learning the concept of order which enhances organizational
skills as well as social skills
By creating a feeling of independence
By a repetition of material – there is a sense of security and freedom of expression
